What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care is a healthcare discipline that focuses on diagnosing and addressing musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders, primarily through manual adjustments and manipulation of the spine. Chiropractors aim to improve overall health and wellbeing by restoring proper alignment and function to the body.

What conditions could chiropractic care help with?

Chiropractic care may often be helpful in addressing conditions such as back pain, neck pain, headaches and joint pain. It may also be beneficial for issues like sciatica, sports injuries, and improving overall mobility and posture.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic care is generally safe when performed by a qualified and licensed chiropractor. We undergo extensive training to ensure the safety of our patients. However, all medical interventions come with risks; please talk to our friendly staff for more information. Also, please remember it’s essential to communicate any concerns or medical conditions with us to ensure a customised and safe care plan.

How does a chiropractic adjustment work?

A chiropractic adjustment involves applying controlled force to specific joints to correct misalignments, also known as subluxations. This realignment may reduce pain, improve joint function and enhance the body’s ability to heal itself.

How long does a chiropractic session usually take?

The duration of a chiropractic session can vary based on individual needs and the complexity of the condition being addressed. Typically, sessions can range from 10 minutes to 20 minutes or more, depending on the care plan and agreed-upon schedule.

Do I need a referral from my GP to see a chiropractor?

No, in most cases, you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. Chiropractors are considered primary healthcare providers, and you can book an appointment directly. However, you can obtain an EPC care plan from your GP, which gives you up to five visits each year fully covered by Medicare.

How many chiropractic sessions will I need?

The number of sessions required varies from person to person and depends on the nature and severity of the condition and stage of your care. We will assess your progress and adjust the care plan accordingly.

Is chiropractic care covered by insurance?

Many insurance plans offer coverage for chiropractic care, but it’s essential to check with your insurance provider to understand your specific coverage details and any potential limitations.
